I’m suffering from an addiction to the Renfrew pattern by Sewaholic.
This fabric is from the pile I bought at Stoffen Spektakel. It is a knit. I bought it to make into a short dress and a t-shirt. Eventually I fancied a long dress. This fabric is just perfect.
I used the Sewaholic Renfrew as the base. It is such a versatile pattern! I seem to keep going back to it. Oh well, if it is a great pattern. I use it over and over and over and over again. You can find all of my Renfrew dresses here.
I added a skirt to this top, this time a maxi skirt. Even if I keep using the same pattern over and over I still want to do something different every time.
I didn’t keep the weight of the skirt in mind. So, my waistband ended up, uhm, a lot lower then my waistline. The unpicking could commence. Afterwards it was perfect. But after a single wash it was hanging lower again. As you cleary can tell, these pictures are taking after washing the dress. I decided to wait until I’ve washed it again to see how the waistband is then. If it keeps getting lower and lower I don’t know what I’ll do. If it stabilizes I will unpick it again. Let’s hope for the second. Oh girl, hoping that I can unpick again. Strange post.
On this dress I added 3/4 sleeves. I didn’t use the cuff. I like the simplicity of a simple hem.
