Today it’s time to tell you more about my Ariel dress I made for Sew It Up.Yesterday I told you some more about my cardigan and you can find the complete look here.

If  you like my Ariel look I would love it if you gave me your vote.

Fabric

I bought this mermaid skin sequins at Stoffenspektakel. The cool thing about this fabric is, if you rubb it up it becomes black mat. Very pretty. I can’t seem to find the card of the shop. The fabric is also from a designer, but I als can’t remember which one. My memory is letting me down. Too much sewing I guess.

De dress is completely lined with navy blue cotton.

Pattern

The pattern is the  Harlequin jurk from La Maison Victor

The fit is ok. It would have been better if it was a bit more fitted arround the waist. Well that what you get when making a zipperless dress.

 Adjustments

I had to grade the buttom to a bigger size. And the butt was way to high for me. So I got those weird flaps. I also adjusted that. And I made the dress a bit shorter. Probably I’ll make it even shorter.

New technique

Nope, I’ve made a sequin dress before. But these sequins where a bit harder to sew.

 The Feel

This dress is loud, very loud. Combined with the cardigan I love to wear. I don’t know if I’ll be wearing this dress on her own any time soon. Maybe I would combined with a pretty purple belt. The dress on her own is a bit too much for me, but combined with something else I love it!

What do you think? Would you wear a loud dress like this?

I would love it if you vote for me.

Do I get your vote?

In this video you can see the effect of the dress really good.
